Nigerian restaurant in Birmingham

After a morning spent at the British Red Cross, we went to Somaga, a Nigerian restaurant not far from New Street Rail Station for lunch. Apparently, ‘Somaga’ is the only Nigerian restaurant in town (this is what an interviewee told us).

There were about thirty tables, a big screen, a good sound system, a pool table… and three of us. The food was cooked on the spot for us and the owner was happy to respond to our questions about the different dishes. Ayo noticed that the Coke and the Fanta were imported directly from Nigeria: matters of authenticity or economics?
